Spiritual Moments Versus Spirit Led
Contributed by Phillip Frady on Nov 28, 2017 (message contributor)
Summary: The message deals with the difference between spiritual moments and consistent daily lives led by the Holy Spirit.
Then there is the life that pleases God. Can you imagine that very thought? God can actually find pleasure in our lives. As we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us we become pleasing to the Heavenly Father. I am sure that you have experienced those moments as a parent; often it does not take a lot to please you. One of my most prized possessions is a page in my prayer notebook. It has a Bible verse that I had written on the top and all over the rest of it is some scribbling that Sammy Jo did when he was one year old. Now the art work is not too great, but what makes it valuable to me is that this little one year old saw me writing in my prayer notebook each morning as he would come strolling into the room where I did my quiet time and he wanted to write in it too. Our efforts before God may just be little scrabbling, but as it is done for God it pleases Him.
Then there is the wonderful privilege of living our life as a child of God. God has chosen to do it that way. As you are led by the Spirit, every day he leads us into more and more of a sense of being the child of our Heavenly Father. Each and every day we feel more a part of the family. I tell you, one of the very best reasons that I have for sharing the gospel of Jesus is for all those people in this world who are disconnected and lost and alone. If you will give your heart to God and allow him to lead you, you will be able to live your life in the best sense of family ever.
Now the question we must ask. Is it that way with you? Please be honest now, who is leading your life? Who is guiding you to do what you do? If it is you and your flesh, be prepared for some rough days ahead. If it is the spirit of God because you have become submissive to Him, be prepared for peace and blessings.
Let us pray, Father, what a joy to be able to say that and know that it is real. You are our Father because you have caused us to be born again in and through Jesus Christ. We chose again and anew to turn our lives over to you. We do nothing but make a mess; we need your help even right now to be able to live to your glory in Jesus’ name,
Amen
