Spiderman And The Snake Eggs

I have heard those youth, and adults, who will come to me and say, “I just can’t live for Jesus. I’ve tried, I just can’t do it.”

The problem is not that you can’t, but that you won’t! If I could follow you around constantly, seeing everything that you do for the next 7 days, I could tell you why you “can’t live for Jesus”. It’s because you won’t turn loose of the world. Satan has planted his “snake eggs” in your mind and you are allowing them to grow. It won’t be long until they begin to hatch, then we will all know that you were only shooting your webs of deceit and playing Christian.

If you are riding down the highway in a car doing 70 miles per hour and there is a fly in the car that is flying around. Why doesn’t that fly splat against the back window? It’s because he is carried along with his environment. He has no idea that just outside the window is certain death.

That’s the way it is for those who won’t resist the devil as he plants those “snake eggs” in their mind. They dwell on the thought and allow it grown and hatch into deadly sin. They are easily persuaded that everything is okay, no matter what they do. They are carried along by the crowd, forgetting that the pits of hell lie just ahead. The webs of deceit that they have fired at everyone who tries to help them has resulted in an unbreakable wall between them and what is right in the sight of God.

Young people who are caught in the web of deceit and are stricken by the deadly vipers in their mind are easy to spot.

They are the hardest to reach with the gospel. They are blinded to what they are doing. They are walking in darkness and don’t even know it. They have become strangers to God. They develop a dual personality.

Isaiah 59:11 says that they, “roar all like bears and mourn like doves..." One minute they are ready to tear friend or foe apart - mean, violent, and angry. The next hour they cry, "I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean it; help me, please."

Today young women stay with boyfriends who beat them because at times they are so kind and gentle. Bro. David Wilkerson puts it this way, “… God will have nothing to do with these up and down moods. These wild mood swings mean that there is satanic poison at work. The Spirit of Christ is always gentle, loving, kind, and long suffering. Never violent. Never roaring like a bear.”

Some of you right now are allowing snake eggs into your mind. You can’t wait until this service is over so you can run to fulfill some of the thoughts that have come to your mind. You can’t keep the thoughts from coming but you have total control over how long you will allow them to stay. Either get rid of the snake eggs or they will hatch and destroy you.

Most people sit on those old snake eggs like a brooding mother hen. Don’t touch my egg. It’s sacred to me. I like my beautiful egg. I won’t let it go and you can’t touch it. It’s mine! You will hold on to that snake egg until it destroys your soul. Don’t tell me I’m wrong! Don’t preach to me about holiness, righteousness and sanctification! Let me “work out my salvation in my own way”.
