Speak out your own Miracle!

Mark 11:12-24

Introduction:

Here is another part of the scripture that shows how powerful words are.

I don’t know if you noticed it too, in the scriptures every time Jesus will drive home a point, he uses stories, or make an action.

Like the feeding of the 5000, the Lord just wanted to teach them that He is real bread from heaven.

The disciples from Emmaus, they recognized Jesus when He broke the bread, why not tell not tell them plainly that He is Jesus?

He told many parables to His disciples to picture them about the Kingdom.

In this particular chapter, Jesus is showing us the connection of the power of words to prayer by speaking to the fig tree.

This is another kingdom principle that we need to look deeper into, I believe many Christians are neglecting this part in their prayer.

Exercise your faith by speaking the Word of God over your life.

2 Corinthians 4:13

It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken."With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak

I shared to you last Sunday, that what have you spoken is what you believe in your heart.

Proverbs 18:21

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

To study this deeper we have to 2 pointers today.

I. Words have Power

“If anyone says to this mountain” ...” who is this “anyone” here? The answer is, Anyone who has faith in God... can speak to the mountain.

Anyone who has faith in God can use this powerful principle.

We all know that “mountain” speaks of barriers, obstacles and troubles.

This passage is teaching us to incorporate power of confession in our prayer.

Sometimes we think prayer is a long list of our needs, but mature praying is filled with God’s word speaking it to your situation.

This is what Isaiah said about the word of God.

Isaiah 55:10

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,

so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater

Isaiah 55:11 ...so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

There is only one way to "return God’s Word unto Him" and that is by CONFESSING IT AS BEING PRESENT TENSE TRUTH IN YOUR LIFE!

-Gary Carpenter

• God’s Word is full of power; it will not return to Him empty.

• God’s Word will accomplish His desires and purposes.

• God’s Word has irresistible power!

When you speak the Word of God, you are tapping into limitless power!

God’s desire is that His words will accomplish something in your life, and He will never stop ‘till you experience the miraculous power of His word!

II. Speak to your mountain.

Mark 11:20-21

In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. Peter remembered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!"

Jesus was very successful in making his point here, because the disciples remembered it.

Noticed the transition here,

"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ’Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

Look at the connection of power of words that we can use prayer.

Verse: 24

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

When you see the word “therefore” that means “what immediately precedes” or “As a results”so verse 23 is connected to verse 24

I believe some Christians, neglect this part in their prayer.

Speaking to your mountain is speaking to your problems in life.

“SPEAK [God’s Word] faithfully” and all kinds of positive things will begin to happen!

I want you to see another aspect of the word of God recorded by Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 23:29

"Is not my word like fire," declares the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?

Think of God’s Word as a hammer.

Every time there are problems, hammer it with God’s word and all kinds of obstacles and opposition will begin to be broken.

Before every miracle Jesus will speak a word.

John 11:43-44a When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” [44] The dead man came out...

Psalm 107:20

He sent forth his word and healed them.

Begin to speak to your mountain. Confront it with the power of God’s words!
