Summary: Because we have trusted in the Lord, we, of all people should have joy.

Sources of Joy

Psalm 5:11

Intro. Because we have trusted in the Lord, we, of all people should have joy.

-Certainly there will be those hard times.

-Even so, in the Lord we have Joy.

-Jesus said, “These things have I spoken unto you,

that my joy might remain in you, and that your

joy might be full”. (John 15:11)

-So where does the believer find joy?

I. The believer’s joy is found in Salvation. Isaiah 12:3

A.Just knowing that we belong to the Lord.

1.HE SAVED US.

2.He turned His anger away from us. (Isa. 12:1)

3. Aren’t you glad you know Lord?

4. He gave us Heaven

5. He gave us Life.

6. He gave us the abundant life.

B.Have you lost the joy of your salvation?

1.God will restore it.

2.David prayed ”Restore unto me the joy of thy Salvation;” Psalms 51:12

II. There is joy in Prayer. John 16:24

A. Have you experienced the joy of answered prayer?

B. We rejoice together in answered prayer.

C.How has God answered prayer in your life lately?

III. There is joy in reading the word. Jeremiah 15:16

A.Read the promises.

B. Read the prophecies.

C. Read the parables.

D. Read the Book…and you will find joy.

E. On reason many believers have no joy is because they are not in the Word.

IV. There is joy in being filled with the Spirit. Galatians 5:22

A.Joy is one of the fruit of the Spirit.

B. Ephesians 5:18-20

V. There is joy in leading a soul to Christ. Psalm 126:6

A.There must be a "going".

B.There must be weeping (in prayer)

C.There must be sowing.

D.There WILL be rejoicing.

VI. There is joy in fellowship with the Lord. 1 John 1:4-10

Conclusion:

1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
