Six Steps to Personal and Corporate Revival Text: Hebrews 7:24-25

But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. 25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Jesus Christ continues forever as our unchangeable priest saving souls and making intercession for us! Therefore, because this is Jesus’ mission we can, and should have personal and corporate revival. IF ever there was a person on earth who might have been excused from the need to pray, it was Jesus. After all, He was God incarnate! He knew all things. He held all power. His link to the Father had never been in question. Why should He need to pray?

Jesus prayed because He is our example! His disciple’s never ask Jesus to teach them how to preach. Nor did they ask Him how they should build a church, or how to raise money but they did ask Him “ Lord, teach us to pray!”

So the first key to personal and corporate revival is prayer! Luke 11:1-2 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom comes.Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Think about this, the prayer life of Jesus was so strong that it got Him arrested! Judas his betrayer knew his odds of finding Christ in the garden of Gethsemane praying as usual were good!

I believe it would be God’s will for us to have a designated prayer room and an organized prayer ministry!

Isaiah 56:7 Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

We are all called God’s children; therefore, we should stay childlike in our reaching out to our heavenly Father!

I Peter 1:8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

How do believers show their love? Through prayer!

Secondly, we enter into personal and corporate revival when we all are tithing!

Malachi 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts,“ If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.

I believe Jesus tithed. If He had not, the Pharisees would have jumped all over Him!

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

II Cor. 9:6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

The third way to bring personal and corporate revival is to fast.

Most medical doctors who are on top of their personal health fast several times a month to cleanse their colon!

Esther fasted before the Lord to change the king’s heart, Daniel fasted and prayed. Also Jesus told His twelve disciples in Matthew 17:21 that some strongholds of the enemy would not be dislodged except by fasting.

So who are we to try to bypass this Spiritual discipline? Fasting is one of the ways I know to signal to God that we are dead serious about revival!

The fourth way to bring personal and corporate revival is repentance!

Acts 3: 19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

The fifth way to bring personal and corporate revival is advance worship.

In Acts 16:25-26 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

Advance worship occurs solely by faith! God is please as we praise and worship Him by faith!

The sixth way to bring personal and corporate revival is unity!

Nothing quenches the Holy Spirit faster than when there is tension or back biting. The anointing of God is simply not going to flow!
