Short Challenge: Lives that please God.

1 Jn.4:19 - we love God because He first loved us. How do we respond.

1 Thes.4:1 - “Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.”

What were they doing?

1 Thes.1:3 - Faith produced work, occupation and lives lived for Him; Love produced labor, hard work and serving God; Hope gave them endurance.

1 Thes.1:6-9 - They imitated God and Paul and welcomed God’s Word, in Holy Spirit’s power, becoming examples to the believers and had reached everyone within 300 miles with the gospel; bottom line they were serving God.

Phil.1:27 - conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

How do you do that?

Eph.4:1 - Live a life worthy of the calling you’ve received (loving God, Loving others and fulfilling His Great Commission).

1 Thes.2:12 - Love lives worthy of God.

Col.1:10 - Live a life worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in every way.

Our love is a response to His. If you love God you’ll desire to please Him in every way.

The challenge: what step do you need to take this week to please God.
