Seven Demons That Attack The Church, Part 1
Contributed by Mike Fogerson on Nov 28, 2017 (message contributor)
Summary: A look at seven demons that cause problems in church.
b You are in a rough spot!
c Operate under the banner of Christ
aa Never in our flesh, strength
bb The moment we do, we find the enemy finds our weakness.
2 Repent of compromise
a There was a serious doctrinal problem at Pergamos. Nicholas taught heresy, got others to follow him.
aa How sad when a church leader takes others with him/her.
b Discipline problem: ignored someone’s sin, let it go.
c Spirit of Balaam (Balak brought Balaam’s ministry)-money becomes the bottom line, goal.
aa Popular preaching replaced prophetic words
bb Image replaced annointing
cc Dulled our sword
3 Must rely on Christ-the Word is powerful. ...for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 2 Cor 10:4 (NASB) Satan can be defeated by the power of the Word.
4 Overcomers are promised gifts.
a Eat hidden manna, not food offered to idols.
b The blessing of Jesus Himself.
aa Set among them a white stone
bb Acquittal, acceptance, acclaim
cc The new name? Jesus!

Notice to Sermon Central Users:
My name is Mike Fogerson, and I pastor a Southern Baptist Church in Chester, Illinois. I have been a long-time user of Sermon Central and truly appreciate its content and contributors. Some of the best sermons I’ve ever preached have been reworked material from this website. As you use the material from my sermon bank, understand that it is work that has been done from not just myself, but from hundreds of other pastors as well. If you see part of your message, or a bunch of your message with my name on it and this upsets you, please email me and I will quickly respond and cite you as the main source. My intent is not to claim someone’s work as my own. I am disclaiming up front that I use the resources from Sermon Central and appreciate the tool. I simply want all those who use my work to know that some of these messages were inspired by the Holy Spirit working through other pastors. Because I do use the messages of other pastors I waive all claims of originality or origin of creativity for the messages posted under my messages. I pray God blesses your preaching ministry for the glory of His Kingdom.
Respectfully,
Mike Fogerson
