Session 6: Prepared (Luke 3:7-18)

Warning (Luke 3:7-9)

John the Baptist calls the religious leaders "brood of vipers", for deadly and devious were their ways. John tells the people to "produce fruit consistent with repentance or face destruction."

Response (Luke 3:10-14)

John's message causes 3 groups to question "What then shall we do?" To those who have, share. To those who collect, be honest. To those who protect, do not take advantage by forceful means or falsely accusing others. Be satisfied.

Division (Luke 3:15-18)

John reminds the people there is only one Christ who is the Messiah. Then along with many other exhortations, John proclaimed good news to the people.
