We cannot give thanks FOR all circumstances but we can IN all circumstances. God has a purpose in every storm, shipwreck, tragedy, disease, or whatever that comes upon His children. Giving thanks to God is meant for our good; it enriches our life.

Paul was a man who suffered a great deal of pain and yet wrote, "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." (I Thess 5: 16-18). For Paul to give us such an advice is amazing. • It shows that a Christian can give thanks ...read more

If you can change your thinking, you can change your life.

The thought recently came to me that if a Christian would just obey the wisdom found in the book of Proverbs, he could live a very successful life. Since there are 31 chapters in Proverbs, one can easily read the chapter each day that corresponds with that particular day of the month, thereby ...read more

The Christian life is not lived from Christmas to Christmas, or Easter to Easter, or month to month, or week to week, but every day, all the time.

The last verse of this Psalm caught my attention. Especially the idea of doing daily what we ought to do. The Christian life is not lived from Christmas to Christmas, or Easter to Easter, or month to month, or week to week, but every day, all the time. Exercise institutions will experience ...read more

New discoveries in neuro-science indicate that there is a "warm-glow" effect in our brains when we are generous. God has built into our brains a great way to feel happy - be generous.

December always leaves me exhausted and I look forward to January o that I can relax a little bit. Butt God has this interesting, and sometimes infuriating was of not letting me rest. I ...read more

Minding The Times: An Exposition On Postmodernism, Part 2

The human mind and spirit cannot endure for very long the chaotic vacillation of such lawlessness before the individual eventually cries out for answers to the extremes of licentiousness and total control. Throughout much of the Modern Era, the Christian apologist could appeal to a shared respect ...read more

A Christian Analysis Of Atheism, Part 1

If the Middle Ages are to stand in history books as the Age of Faith, it could be equally asserted that the nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first centuries will no doubt be remembered as the Era of Unbelief. Whereas unbelievers in the Middle Ages were careful in how they expressed their ...read more

The morning sports pages brought forth a pearl of wisdom from one Ron Jaworski, quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles. Mr. Jaworski, as it turned out, is something of a prophet. Jim, as I will call him, was a successful pastor, acclaimed for his preaching skill, sought out for his wisdom, almost worshipped by the flocks of young adults who came to the church he served.
