  • The Promise Of Justification Series

Contributed by Matthew Kratz on Oct 19, 2018
     | 4,232 views

In Galatians 3:15-18 four reasons are given for affirming the superiority of the covenant of promise: God presents its 1) Confirmation (Gal. 3:15), its 2) Christ-centeredness (Gal. 3:16), its 3) Chronology (Gal. 3:17), and its 4) Completeness (Gal. 3:18).

Many of the delightful things that we anticipate in our lives are based on promises. We enter into relationships with people we care about and in broader organizations through promises. The word “promise” itself is filled with hopeful realities. We love it when someone makes a promise. It has the ...read more

There are many church, synagogue & mosque members today devoted to rituals & rule-keeping. They are living in religious bondage. They need to hear that spiritual freedom is possible only through the grace of God in Jesus Christ.

GALATIANS 4:8-20 AN APPEAL OF LOVE The conclusion reached in verse 7 is that those who have received the Spirit are now sons and heirs of God. Paul now tells the Galatians they are not acting like heirs of God! So he asks them if they prefer slavery or freedom, legalism or the Spirit? Did ...read more

  • Boast In The Lord Series

Contributed by Matthew Kratz on Mar 22, 2019
    based on 1 rating

Paul gives three reasons for boasting only in the cross of Jesus Christ: 1) The cross has the power to free believers from the world’s bondage (Galatians 6:14b), 2) It has the power to do what the flesh cannot do, and 3) It has the power to bring salvation.

Galatians 6:14-18 [14] But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. [15] For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. [16] And as for all who walk by this rule, ...read more

At year end tends to be a time of extremes. Some fall into one extreme of debauchery and falling back into a lifestyle that they were redeemed from. Scripture “Paul’s doctrine of grace is dangerous!” cried the false teachers in Galatia. “It replaces law with license. Why, if we do away with our rules and abandon our high standards, the churches will fall apart.” Those first century false teachers, known as Judaizers or legalists, were not the ...read more
