This Psalm compares God’s eternity with human transitoriness; the eternal God and Mortal man; ever-existing God and short-lived man. Moses offered several prayers but only this prayer is recorded in the Bible. It’s a prayer for the restoration of Israel.

David and Moses both realized that the more we confront our impending death, the more likely we are to use our lives wisely. They both asked God for a revelation of this. We too need a reality check so we live our lives to the highest profit.
