Sometimes we so emphasize that Jesus is the Son of God (fully divine) that we forget He is also the Son of Man (fully human). At Gethsemane, we see Jesus’ human nature struggling with the perfect will of God — for our sakes!

Jesus the Struggler (Mark 14:32-42) 1. We all do goofy things. “Today, I took a picture of the combination to my new lock so I would always have it on my phone if I ever forgot it. I put my phone in my gym locker, locked it with the new lock, then promptly forgot the combination.” 2. ...read more

Over against and alongside the manipulation of Satan, there was another plan being worked out, this time by God. This was the plan of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who is, after all, the fulfillment of the Passover.

Luke 22:14-53. “When the hour was come,” we read, “Jesus sat down with the twelve apostles.” Jesus was in complete control as He expressed His desire to share the Passover with His disciples before He suffered. “For,” He said, “I will not any ...read more

  • Jeshurun

Contributed by Norman Bernad on Sep 27, 2022
     | 1,767 views

The name Jeshurun means “upright one” or “blessed one.” In the parallelism of Isaiah’s poetry, Jeshurun is a replacement for Jacob in the previous line. So we see that Jeshurun is a poetic reference to the nation of Israel.
