    based on 3 ratings

Ezekiel was a dynamic and dramatic guy. Even though he was a great prophet/teacher/preacher, his words landed on deaf ears. I’ve been teaching Sunday school for over 30 years and there are times when I wonder if I’m even getting through to anyone.

Happy “Dramatic” Weekend, Everyone! There is so much drama today. Whether it is political or in Hollywood, or in the music world, or even in our own communities. Be it drugs or suicide or violence or anything else today. Goodness, some families have enough drama going on to keep the nosey gossips ...read more

  • In Season Or Out Of Season!

    based on 2 ratings

We are not microwave cooks! We do not bring about “instant” Christians! We merely mix ingredients, and share receipts. In other words…We share the Gospel!

Happy “Speak-Up” Weekend, Everyone! Amos, an Old Testament book that we don’t spend much time in is where we will be studying this Sunday. Amos is called one of the “lesser” books of the Bible, not because it’s less important, but because it’s smaller. Amos, like Hosea, Joel, Obadiah, Micah, ...read more

Pentecost (B). Jewish Pentecost celebrated the giving of the law on Sinai, the God choosing Israel as His people. In the Pentecost of the Church we are assured that we too are chosen by God and live in His kingdom.

“Out of Many, One” J. J. May the words of my mouth, and the meditations of our hearts, be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, our Rock and our Redeemer. Amen. “Out of Many, One” Today is Pentecost. And most of us are familiar with the account of the events of that day. ...read more

    A sermon about trusting Jesus.

Matthew 14:22-33 "Getting out of the Boat" I'm trying to remember if it was in KidzJam or Sunday school. It was one or the other. I was tucking Mary Ellen into bed on a Sunday evening and I asked her what she had learned in, again, either KidzJam or Sunday school. And she told me this ...read more

We have to get out of our boat in order to serve the One we call Master

The disciples had just reported to Jesus that John had been killed and was now buried. John, as you recall had gone to Herod Antipas, the ruler of Galilee, and told him he was sinning by marrying his brother’s wife. That might be why he was known as “John the Baptist”. At a ...read more

Come out of the Wilderness? Deuteronomy 2:1-7; 13-15 Often, we spend our days running in circles wondering why, how and what has caused us to face our wilderness experience. • Bent Out Of Shape

Contributed by Craig Condon on Aug 20, 2016
     | 9,002 views

Jesus knew that rules are important, but he knew that the needs of people are more important. You and I need to learn that lesson as well. Whenever we see someone in need, the most important thing is to help them, no matter when or where it may be.

To help you understand the importance of the reading we just heard from Luke’s Gospel, I’m going to do something unusual. I’m going to bend over. As you can see, this is not a very comfortable position for me. I could easily stay bent over like this for a few minutes, but what if ...read more

  • Gaal Driven Out Series

Contributed by John Lowe on Mar 21, 2020

There is nothing surprising about what is related here. The drunken celebration of the previous night had left Gaal and his men both mentally and physically unprepared for any kind of effective military activity, and Abimelech and his army easily defeated them.

Chapter 43 Gaal Driven Out [Judges 9.34-9.41] Scripture: Judges 9:34-41 (KJV) 34 And Abimelech rose up, and all the people that were with him, by night, and they laid wait against Shechem in four companies. 35 And Gaal the son of Ebed went out, and stood in the entering of the gate of the ...read more
