  • “jesus: A Portrait Of Servanthood” Series

Contributed by Dave Mcfadden on Nov 21, 2016

Through the cross, Christ provided salvation for those who are lost and an example of service for those who are saved.

As we conclude our Character Tour of the Old Testament, we're looking to the example of Jesus, who shows us what it means to serve God. This is important, because of the command Christ has given to us: "As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." - John 20:21 (NIV) As we consider the example ...read more

  • A Bibilical Deacon

Contributed by Dwight Kennedy on Feb 22, 2018
    based on 1 rating

I want us to look at what the BIBLE gives as qualifications of a deacon. Also, the question sometimes comes up, "Do we really need deacons now?" I believe that stems from a misunderstanding of what a deacon should actually be.

The church has many positions that are filled with Godly men and Godly woman, but the Bible only teaches of two offices: 1) Bishop, Elder, Overseer, or Pastor, and 2) Deacon. Churches today are filled with men who may hold the TITLE of deacon, but their lives disqualify them from actually being a ...read more

What is Success? I believe everyone wants to be successful. Not too many people walk around in life saying I want to fail at this or fail at that, but we all desire success.

  • Passionate About The Church Series

Contributed by Christopher Benfield on Dec 21, 2016
     | 6,277 views

Paul was passionate about the church. He had developed a personal relationship with them and knew their needs and concerns. Pastors, and those within the church, can glean much from the Apostle in this passage. We need the commitment and passion he had.

Passionate about the Church Philippians 4: 1-3 In order to effectively lead a congregation of believers, the pastor must have a burden for the people within the congregation, while developing personal relationships with them. Paul understood this principle of leadership and provided a great ...read more

  • Can You Forgive Yourself?

    based on 5 ratings

So often we wallow in guilt and shame, long after we have asked Jesus to forgive us. What if we could be free of that for good? Is self-forgiveness biblical? If not, how can I move forward out of my despair? Peter is a case in point.

John 21:1-19 Can You Forgive Yourself? Self-forgiveness is the big rage in pop psychology today. I did a quick search on Amazon.com this week, and came up with over 12,000 hits on the subject of self-forgiveness. Yet, the interesting thing is, the Bible has absolutely no mention of it at all! ...read more

The destruction was caused by the sins of the people. Jeremiah identified with the people and their pain and suffering. We as ...read more

Christians Find Glory In Unlikely Places 1) Glory in death; 2) Glory in service

If you had to buy milk and eggs, would you go to a sports store? If you wanted to eat a big juicy hamburger, would you stop by a sushi restaurant? No. A sports store is an unlikely place to find groceries, and a sushi restaurant is an unlikely place to sink your teeth into a meaty hamburger. What ...read more
