Jonah had more pity for the plant that gave him a little shade than for the people of Nineveh who had repented and thereby were saved from God’s wrath and judgement. May we learn to value people over things and traditions and love them like Jesus did.
We read in Jonah 4:10, “The LORD said to him, "This plant grew up in one night and disappeared the next; you didn't do anything for it and you didn't make it grow—yet you feel sorry for it!” (GNB)
