  • Where Should We As A Nation Put Our Trust?

Contributed by Dr. Odell Belger on Mar 2, 2022
     | 1,240 views

When a man is lost in the desert, he may experience a mirage. That is, he may look out over the sands, and in the distance see what appears to be a lake, shimmering in the sun.

His goal is to get to the lake and obtain water to satisfy his thirst. As he travels toward the “lake”, the lake seems to maintain it’s distance, or at some point just disappears. IT WAS A MIRAGE! Such an experience only brings disappointment and tragedy to the individual who believes the mirage is ...read more

Contributed by Gordon Mcculloch on Sep 8, 2024

By using the story of the gentile woman, whose daughter was possessed, we can learn the process of prayer, and how we need to become nothing to allow God to work through us and bless us abundantly whilst doing so.

This sermon was delivered to Holy Trinity Church in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland on the 8th September 2024 (a Scottish Episcopal Church in the Dioceses of Glasgow and Dumfries). “Please join me in my prayer.” Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of our hearts, be acceptable in your sight, O ...read more

  • Forgive Us Our Debts - Matthew 6:12 Series

Contributed by Darrell Ferguson on Sep 15, 2024
     | 250 views

Most people think asking forgiveness means asking not to be punished. But there is far more to forgiveness than that. Asking forgiveness means requesting that God reverse the damage of sin in 4 areas.

Matthew 6:5-15 And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your ...read more

  • Names Of God: Adonai, God Our Master And Owner Series

Contributed by Justin Steckbauer on Aug 1, 2022
     | 1,663 views

The name Adonai occurs about 300 times in the Old Testament. Every time it’s used it’s written as a possessive plural form. So it could actually be read as “my Lords” which reminds us that God is a trinity, of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

"Servant" in our English New Testament usually represents the Greek doulos (bondslave). Sometimes it means diakonos (deacon or minister); this is strictly accurate, for doulos and diakonos are synonyms. Both words denote a man who is not at his own disposal, but is his master's ...read more

God’s ways are not ours, and his judgement is broader than ours.

Saturday of 18th Week in Course We cannot imagine the situation in the tiny kingdom of Judah in the seven or so years before Nebuchadnezzar’s siege and destruction of Jerusalem. Though Satan is a vanquished enemy, the war between God and Satan has not diminished over the centuries, it has intensified. That war is over every man’s soul and Satan is not going to take a day off.

  • Why Are We Told To Take No Thought For Our Lives?

Contributed by Chris Swanson on May 6, 2023

We should turn our worries into prayers. While we are in prayer and with thanksgiving in our hearts, we should learn to give it to God and leave it there.

Matthew 6:25-34 closes this piece of the Sermon on the Mount with Jesus teaching about worrying. Indeed, even to the extremely poor, Jesus says not to stress over food or garments. God takes care of the birds and garments the lilies in a beautiful manner, and God’s children are definitely more ...read more

  • From Our Mouths To God's Ears Series

Contributed by Gordon Pike on Jul 18, 2022
     | 2,952 views

In the midst of the spiritual wilderness that we find ourselves in today, our serenity … our comfort … our confidence comes from the fact that God provides us with our daily bread.

After Jesus was baptized, the Gospel writers say that Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness where He was tempted by the devil for 40 days (Matthew 4:1-11; Mark 1:12-13; Luke 4:1-13). During that time, Jesus ate nothing. At this point, the devil attempts to use Jesus’ hunger to ...read more

Contributed by Donald Whitchard on Dec 30, 2021
     | 993 views

John 3 introduces us to Nicodemus, a religious man who seemed sincere in wanting to know more about Jesus. He received the greatest lesson in that a real relationship with God is made possible only by the finished work of Christ on the cross and His resurrection.

The third chapter of John's Gospel gives us a portrait of the Lord Jesus as the Divine Teacher. He has already been presented as the Light, The Word of God, the Lamb of God, and the Messiah. Now He gives His attention to teach us how to flee the darkness of this world and come to the Light, ...read more
