Guilty But Pardoned

Jesus was our Savior on the cross, but He was also our Judge, and He pardoned us for all of our unknown sins of omission that we can never confess. His forgiveness was universal and comprehensive.

If God did not pardon the guilty there would be no Gospel, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Even so, we feel there is a danger in being too merciful. Love’s Response To Hate

Jesus was our Savior on the cross, but He was also our Judge, and He forgave us and all mankind for the sins that are sins of omission. These are sins we are not aware of and so we can never confess. Jesus forgave these along with all other sins.

Jesus not only taught radical forgiveness, He practiced it, and we see this as He died on the cross forgiving all who had a part in His terrible pain, and that included all of us.

Jesus is identified with the lamb, for they die without a fight. They meekly go to their death without attacking or resisting. Jesus laid down His life voluntarily, and He did not, as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, snarl and rip and tear at His crucifiers.
