Book of Joshua is about faith. The Israelites had approached the Jordan River in transition from wandering in a desert to dwelling in a new land. Greater blessings awaited them but with greater battles. Victory comes to God when His people trust and obey.

God commanded Joshua to pile up a mound of stones from the bottom of the Jordan river, which God had miraculously dried up, to incite the curiosity of their children and give the parents a chance to witness.
