Walking Into Hell With Clean Feet

The last evening Jesus spent with His disciples (John 13-17) had Him showing the act of service towards others by washing their feet. Judas Iscariot's feet were cleaned as well, but his heart remained dirty and unresponsive to this final outreach of compassion as he planned Jesus' betrayal.

It is obvious that the Spirit of God was moving and working in the hearts of those in Jerusalem even before reading the Word of God. Generally speaking, people do not often gather together as one for God “unless the Father draws them (John 6:44).”

In order to live with Christ, we have to die to our worldly way of life and take up his life-a life of forgiveness, goodness, trust and service. If we are grounded in Christ’s unconditional love, we are free to lead like Jesus and love and serve others.
