Jesus is the new covenant that God promised to his people in Jeremiah 31:31-34. In Jesus, God united us to him with bonds that can never be broken, and through this new covenant, we and Jesus can look death in the eye and see victory.

As we prepare for Christmas, we must not be guilty of leaving Jesus in the manger. While I am thankful for His birth in Bethlehem, I also rejoice for Calvary. Jesus came with purpose - to die for our sin and reconcile us to God. He was born to die.
