Early Jewish Christians referred to themselves as "The Way," which some have surmised comes from the book of Isaiah, where it was prophesied, "prepare the way of the Lord" (Isaiah 40:3).

Whatever the reason was that made Zacchaeus want to see Jesus he was determined to see him. He went to great lengths. He ran ahead of the crowd and he climbed a sycamore tree so he could catch a glimpse of Jesus as he passed by.
