In Paul’s writings, his greetings varied from church to church. He made the greetings fit the church he was addressing and the things he wanted to talk about.

For example, when he wrote to the Corinthians he stated that he was an Apostle in his greetings. The phrase "salt of the earth" has become a commonly used expression in our society. The dictionary defines it as used in reference to "a very good and honest person or group," but that doesn't begin to do justice to what Jesus had in mind in this teaching.
