Most nativity scenes portray a cute scene of a happy little family, & friendly visitors. That's the way we like to think of it, but it's hardly realistic. When we pause at the manger with this image, we maybe forget that this infant was born to die.

God’s grace is His unmerited favor. And that means we can’t earn it. We can’t work for it, and we can’t change His mind about it, even if we tried. He pours out His blessing on us not because of what we do, but because of who He is.
