In Southern culture handshaking is also known as glad handing. Be discerning when who give the right hand of fellowship lest that glad hand become a sad one when that person or group proves to not be what they seem to be.

Jesus took that group that had no citizenship in Israel & made them fellow-heirs (not exactly shared citizenship-we'll talk about that next time). So the outside group is now inside the inside group. Then He brought both together as super-insiders. We are all in Christ.

The Bible doesn't ask us to seek out perfect people, but rather to build relationships with fellow sinners who have experienced God's transformative love. At the same time, Scripture does provide guidance on setting boundaries and being mindful of the company we keep.
