The King of Nineveh humbled himself before God because he understood that God is sovereign. There are many others in the bible who recognized God’s sovereignty and submitted to His will. Only those who recognize and acknowledge God’s sovereignty can joyfully accept His dealings in their lives.

We read in Jonah 3:9, “Who knows? As we have entered a New Year God reminds us through His Word that He is able, He will deliver us and He will lift us up, no matter what the year may hold or what challenges may come our way.
