Herod's bad decisions, compromise, and pride created a prime situation in which to be taken advantage of and tricked into executing John the Baptist. We can learn from Herod and learn not to be so gullible.

"Splagchnizomai" is the Greek word that Mark uses to describe the depth of compassion Jesus had on the crowd of people that were like sheep without a shepherd. How can we have this kind of love?
