In these verses, we see a clear revelation of one of the greatest promises ever given to the human race the promise of salvation, the forgiveness of sins. When we trust Christ for our salvation, our sins are forgiven and we receive Christ’s own righteousness, as symbolized by Joshua’s new clothes.

We must be faithful to invest our lives into the responsibilities God gives to us. The parable also warns us of the dangers of being lazy and passive by burying our talents.
