Now this is interesting. Demon possession, evil spirits cast out, people being healed and a prophecy from the distant past saying this applied to Jesus. Why aren't all people healed today when they come to Jesus?

Matthew 8:16-17 - "MY SPIRITUAL BATTLE FOR A PANADOL" - Matthew 8 - Part 6 Demons! There was a time when I told the Lord that I would do whatever He wanted me to do EXCEPT CAST OUT DEMONS and do weird stuff like that with the occult. I now realise that Jesus power and authority far exceeds that of ...read more

THE ALL-ENCOMPASSING SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD. Isaiah 45:1-7. This chapter opens with the astonishing reference to Cyrus, King of Persia, as the LORD’s “anointed” - literally, “messiah” (Isaiah 45:1). From blame to shame. A call to repentance.

SOUR GRAPES. Ezekiel 18:1-4; Ezekiel 18:25-32. It seems to be very much a part of fallen human nature that we want to blame someone else for the things that go wrong in our lives. This all began in the garden of Eden, after the first couple ate of the forbidden fruit. Adam blamed both his ...read more

That Rock was Christ. 1 Corinthians 10 verse 4.

LOOK UNTO THE ROCK. Isaiah 51:1-6. The imperative “Hearken to me” (Isaiah 51:1; Isaiah 51:4; cf. Isaiah 51:7) is strongly reminiscent of Jesus’ own expression, ‘He that hath ears to hear, let him hear’ (cf. Matthew 11:15; Matthew 13:9). Hearken. Listen intently. LET US SING UNTO THE LORD. Psalm 95:1-7a. In days gone by not everybody who gathered in our churches could read, so it was useful to learn things by rote.
