We find that in 43:1-14 Jacob tell his sons to go back to Egypt and buy a “little grain” as their stocks are almost over. The sons refuse to get back unless Benjamin is with them.

You are only truly one with Jesus when you eat with Him. You are only truly one with anyone by means of eating with them. It was by means of food and eating that Joseph worked out reconciliation with his brothers.

Life revolves around eating, for where there is no eating there is no life. Our vacation made us all the more aware of this obvious truth, for everyday we had to make decisions about where we would eat. Joseph‘s brothers come to Egypt and undergo a time of testing. As they come into their brother’s presence, unbeknownst to them, they bow low before him. Joseph’s Dream has been fulfilled.
