Sermon On A Perfect Smile

Summary: A perfect smile, in dentistry and aesthetics, is considered to be the harmonious blend of symmetry, proportion, and alignment that complements an individual's unique facial features.
Christie Brinkley, a female American model once remarked: “My smile has been my ticket to the world. Smiling releases the same feel-good hormones you get jogging. Caring for your lips and gums is important. I brush my teeth morning and night, alternating toothpaste brands. In addition to flossing, I use a Water Pik to massage my gums and remove food particles.” Proverbs 15:13 reminds us: “A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.”
A perfect smile, in dentistry and aesthetics, is considered to be the harmonious blend of symmetry, proportion, and alignment that complements an individual's unique facial features. It encompasses not only straight, good-looking teeth, that aid positive impact in social or work-related interactions but also healthy gums and lips. It is the apotheosis of life that many crave for, but few truly experience.
Teeth, whether they be natural, false, white or stained, are an essential component of life. Their scientific study field is covered by odontology. They allow for the tougher, but perhaps more inviting foods to be partaken and enjoyed. They grant an important element to the freedom of choice in food. They aid clarity of speech, and may encourage self-confidence. However, they need looking after. Just as dentists are usually regarded as the ideal source to maintain a healthy mouth, so God is also available to aid a personal healthy life.
Toothpaste is a paste or gel of differing colors, typically used with a toothbrush. Its function is to clean and maintain the health and beauty of teeth. It usually contains ingredients like abrasives, fluoride, and flavorings. It comes in many manufactured varieties, each asserting independent levels of defense. Its overall purpose is the safeguarding and protection of the structure and composition of teeth in general. Dental plaque is said to be a sticky film of bacteria on the teeth. If it is not regularly removed by brushing and flossing it may cause oral health issues.
Bad teeth and gums, caused through lack of care, could be considered as a contributory source of anguish and despair. They indicate poor oral hygiene practices that may result in subsequent mental disorders. These need to be addressed quickly before taking root and suffocating the goodness and elegance from the flourishing seeds of life. Neglect can incur pain or discomfort, or an unhealthy lifestyle that could resemble the undesirable weeds of life. These are the disagreeable factors that need to be metaphorically gathered and incinerated. Matthew 13:36-43 reminds us: “Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.”
He answered, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.”
God is the spiritual aspect in life that aids cleanliness and purity. He performs in a similar way to a toothbrush, that when applied correctly through regular and careful brushing, removes bad particles, and stimulates the gums promoting blood flow and healthy gum tissue. This action refreshes and invigorates the overall experience of life and diminishes health issues. Frequent prayer to God could equate to the benefits of daily brushing, it aids inner naturalness and seeks guidance with a reassurance that enhance bodily benefits. Mark 7:2-13 reminds us: “They saw that some of his disciples ate with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed. (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands properly, holding to the tradition of the elders, and when they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions that they observe, such as the washing of cups and pots and copper vessels and dining couches. And the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with defiled hands?” And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
