------------------------------------------
Everything is based on perception. An example: Is the glass half full or half empty? How you view a situation can change your entire life. We believe when we see things that we are seeing them as they exist. In reality, how we see things are filtered through our beliefs, fears and life experiences. If we could change those filters, turn those negatives into positives, we could change our entire life. Perception is everything.
Elisha prayed that God would open the eyes of the servant. When God opened them there were horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
What do you see when you open your eyes? God has already given us everything we need complete the task He has set before us. We are only limited by the limitations of our mind. Elisha asked God to open and close the eyes of those that would do harm. In other words, God will put your enemy at your feet. God can make your enemy your friend. Jesus said there will be a day when the lion will lie with the lamb. When we start our days, thank God give Him some praise, ask Him to lead us and guide us through the day. That doesnt mean that you become blind to reality. It doesnt mean that you dont see the hurt and pain that plague our nation but it does mean that you do not focus on the pain. It means that you raise above by setting your sights on Godly things. Yes sometimes God may allow you to be in the midst of a situation because He is moving you to a new destination. In all you do and all you say, let it be to the glory of the Lord.
Keep your eyes focused on God. Don't look to the left or the right (Prov. 4:27 ). We need to have a made up mind, I'm going to serve the Lord until I die. Mother might not serve Him, father may not serve Him but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. What about your children you may ask. The Bible says train up a child the way he may go and he will not depart ( Prov. 22:6 ). I did not say he would not stray but if you train him somewhere along the line he will be like the prodigal son. He/she will began to look back over their lives and say why am I here? My Heavenly Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He has prepared a mansion for me. If I live for Him He will supply my every need. If He can feed 5000 people with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread surely He can feed me. The same God that created the heavens and the earth in 6 days, that reached down and picked up a handful of clay and made man in His own image, than took a rib from the man and created woman is the same God that sits high and looks low. He says why worry about things that you cant control ( Matt 6: 25-34; Phil. 4: 6-7). He waters the grass and feeds the birds and trees they rely and trust in Him, why cant we? Don't you know God knows what we need before you even ask? Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. Lord give me eyes that I may see the goodness of the Lord.
