INTRODUCTION:

The pursuit of God is the noblest and most rewarding endeavour any believer can undertake. To seek God with all your heart means to long for Him above everything else — more than riches, fame, success, or pleasure. It means engaging the entire being— spirit, soul, and body— in a passionate desire to know, love, and please God.

God does not hide from those who truly desire Him. His word promises that those who seek Him diligently will surely find Him. A casual or half-hearted pursuit of God will always produce shallow experiences, but when we seek Him with all our heart, He responds with intimacy, revelation, and transformation.

In a generation filled with distractions, divided hearts, and spiritual apathy, God is still calling His children to wholehearted devotion. This sermon will explore how to seek God passionately, what it involves, and the blessings it brings.

1. WHOLEHEARTED SEEKING INVOLVES COMPLETE SURRENDER

You cannot seek God with all your heart and hold on to self-will or worldly attachments.

a) Surrender Every Area of Your Life (Romans 12:1–2)

True seeking begins with offering your body as a living sacrifice, fully yielded to God.

b) Let Go of Idols and Distractions (Ezekiel 14:3–5)

Idols of the heart—whether money, pleasure, or pride—must be torn down to make room for God.

c) Align Your Desires with God’s Will (Psalm 37:4)

As you delight in God, your desires begin to reflect His purposes for your life.

d) Desire God Above All Else (Philippians 3:7–8)

Paul counted everything as loss for the excellence of knowing Christ.

Biblical Example: The rich young ruler failed to seek God with all his heart because he was unwilling to surrender his possessions (Matthew 19:16–22).

2. WHOLEHEARTED SEEKING DEMANDS CONSISTENT FELLOWSHIP

A passionate pursuit of God thrives on intimacy and continual communion.

a) Maintain a Daily Prayer Life (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Persistent, heartfelt prayer builds intimacy with God and opens your heart to His voice.

b) Study and Meditate on the Word (Psalm 119:10–11)

The Word reveals God’s character and draws you deeper into His presence.

c) Cultivate the Presence of God (Psalm 27:4)

Longing to dwell in God’s presence should be a daily desire, not just a Sunday ritual.

d) Fellowship with Other Believers (Hebrews 10:25)

Spiritual community strengthens our walk and fuels our hunger for more of God.

Biblical Example: Mary of Bethany chose to sit at Jesus’ feet, seeking His words above all else (Luke 10:38–42).

3. WHOLEHEARTED SEEKING IS FUELLED BY FAITH AND DESIRE

You must believe that God is real and wants to reveal Himself to you.

a) Approach God with Expectant Faith (Hebrews 11:6)

God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him—faith is the key to access.

b) Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness (Matthew 5:6)

God satisfies those who deeply desire to walk in His ways.

c) Pursue God Even When It’s Inconvenient (2 Samuel 24:24)

True seeking often involves sacrifice and persistence through challenges.

d) Be Willing to Wait on God (Isaiah 40:31)

Seeking God requires patience and trust in His timing and ways.

Biblical Example: Blind Bartimaeus refused to be silenced and passionately called out to Jesus until He was healed (Mark 10:46–52).

4. WHOLEHEARTED SEEKING BRINGS DIVINE REWARD

God honours those who seek Him sincerely and consistently.

a) God Reveals Himself to the Seeker (Jeremiah 29:13)

You will find God when you search for Him with all your heart.

b) The Seeker Walks in Divine Favour (Proverbs 8:17–21)

Those who seek God experience wisdom, favour, and provision.

c) Intimacy with God Produces Power and Authority (John 15:7)

Abiding in God leads to answered prayers and spiritual influence.

d) Seeking God Releases Direction and Clarity (Proverbs 3:5–6)

He guides those who acknowledge Him in all their ways.

Biblical Example: Cornelius was a devout seeker, and God sent Peter to lead him into the fullness of salvation and the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:1–4, 30–48).

CONCLUSION:

Seeking God with all your heart is not a one-time event but a lifelong pursuit. It requires surrender, passion, consistency, and faith. The rewards are far greater than anything this world can offer—divine presence, spiritual intimacy, direction, favour, and eternal life.

God is not far from those who truly desire Him. If you will rise above the distractions, break free from spiritual complacency, and hunger for Him, you will find Him. Your life will never remain the same. It is time to seek the Lord with all your heart.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, give me a heart that longs for You above all else.

2. Remove every idol or distraction keeping me from seeking You wholeheartedly.

3. Help me to build a consistent prayer and Word life.

4. Increase my faith to seek You in every season.

5. Let my pursuit of You result in divine encounters and transformation.
