Secret of the Most Holy Place

Introduction

A It is my fear that so many Christians get saved, are baptized & join a church & believe there is no further place to go.

1 Saved, going to heaven, I’m done

a There are higher heights, deeper parts in the streams of living water.

b Many people would balk, but I believe Scripture testifies to it.

aa Some are stronger/weaker I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel...Gal 1:6 (NASB)

bb Righteous man gets stuff done. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. James 5:16 (NASB)

2 I fear many Christians enter the court of the women & are content just to be among the chosen, assembly, elect.

a In the Temple, there were 15 steps separating the Court of Israel & the Court of Women.

aa Literally a shallower spot.

bb I’m glad to be in the Temple, but I’m not content to just know Jesus as Savior.

b Court: flesh

aa Holy Place: flesh & spirit

bb Stuff that happens in the Holy Place is never tried, attempted, dreamt of in the Court.

cc For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate.16 But if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with the Law, confessing that the Law is good.17 So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.19 For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want.20 But if I am doing the very thing I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.21 I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good.22 For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man,23 but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.24 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Romans 7:15-24 (NASB) Dualism

c Stay in the Holy Place long enough, you want more.

aa Not in another book, speaker, revival, lecture, class, study, meeting

bb Your heart will always yearn for more.

B The answer is in front of you...Him.

1 Not song, service, book, sermon

a For years, I’ve preached we can’t change others...we can’t even change ourselves.

aa Can’t make myself obey, submit

bb How many times have we tried & failed to do as our Jesus demands?

b See the blood leading beyond the veil.

aa I see! He, Jesus, had to die for the veil to be removed/tore down.

bb ...saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done." Luke 22:42 (NASB) His will for the Father’s will.

c You realize if you’re going to go into the Most Holy Place, you’re going to have to die.

aa Yourself: pride, will, pain, bitterness

bb You must die to let Him live

2 And rend your heart and not your garments." Now return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and relenting of evil. Joel 2:13 (NASB)

a Rip my heart?

aa We’ve spent our lives trying to get within the veil & failed to rip our veil! And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split. Matt 27:51 (NASB)

bb The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Psalms 51:17 (NASB)

b This is the secret!

3 To call Him Savior gets you to heaven!

a And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." Rev 19:16 (NASB)

b When your heart is broken/tore, He can enter you, take the throne of your heart.

aa At His feet, He rules

bb The blood was sprinkled all the way to the throne...your throne.

C Jesus doesn’t leave you at His feet.
