Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
A critical examination of many churches today shows signs of weakness, lethargy, and decline. The once vibrant fires of revival and renewal have dimmed or been obstructed by sin, personal desires, and evil forces.
The state of many churches today reveals weakness, apathy, and decline. The fires of revival and renewal have dimmed or been hindered by sin, worldly influences, and spiritual opposition. To bring about a change, we must repair the altar of the Lord.
The altar serves as a meeting place between the physical and the spiritual. It is where we worship, offer sacrifices, gather as God's people, and establish covenants. However, broken altars in the lives of God's people hinder the manifestation of His power.
1. Consecration: Fresh consecration to Christ brings a renewed fire on the altar. We must dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to God.
2. Confession and Repentance: Coming to the altar in confession and repentance allows the Holy Spirit to cleanse us from sin and remove barriers between us and God.
3. Surrender: The altar is a place of surrender, where lives are transformed. It is a powerful place for evangelism and for prodigal sons and daughters to return to God.
4. Prayer: The altar is a place of prayer, where we can seek God's face and experience His answers. We must build an altar of prayer in our hearts and in our churches.
5. Baptism of the Holy Spirit: The altar is where we can receive the empowering baptism of the Holy Spirit for witnessing and victorious Christian living.
6. Healing: The altar is a place where healing gifts of the Spirit can be received through prayer. God's compassion and glory are often revealed through divine healing.
7. Worship: The altar is a place of worship, where we can experience the tangible presence of God. Worshiping Him for who He is brings us into a deeper awareness of His goodness.
1. Accept the Bible as authoritative and accurate.
2. Embrace salvation as a free gift from God, received through faith.
3. Live a godly life that reflects true salvation.
4. Regularly participate in church services and fellowship.
5. Maintain discipline within the church.
6. Fathers should take responsibility as spiritual leaders in their families.
Revival is not achieved through organization or extended prayer alone. We must seek God's glory above all else and long for Him to be honored among us. Elijah's prayer on Mount Carmel exemplifies this, as he sought God's glory to be revealed before His people.
1. Instant answers to prayer when we repair the altar and obey God's laws.
2. Acceptance of our offerings by the Lord.
3. Activation of our potentials as we repair the altar.
4. An end to hardship in our lives, symbolized by the consumed rock on Mount Carmel.
To experience revival, we must repair the broken altars in our hearts and build new ones for God. This requires faith, praise, thanksgiving, worship, prayer, sacrifice, dedication, and consecration. As we do so, we can expect answered prayers, acceptance of our offerings, activation of our potentials, and an end to hardship. Let us seek God's glory above all else and live in daily consecration and surrender to Christ. The power of God is more than a match for the challenges we face, and as His people, we can cry out, "The Lord, He is God!"
