Rev.# 28~8:8-11 2 ND & 3rd TRUMPET JUDGMENTS
Let me say before we began today, for the sake of those listening that may not understand, there are 3 set of judgments in the Revelation, there is the sealed judgments, the trumpet judgments and the bowl judgments, and all 3 sets of these judgments have 7 different applications in each of the 3.
The seals are 1st, and then the trumpets are 2nd, and the last set of the 3 are the bowl or vial judgments. As each new judgment is opened and directed on the earth dwellers each new one becomes worse than the last, I say earth dwellers because these are the people that were left behind on the earth when the rapture of the True Church takes place in chapter 4:1-2.
--------
Let me point out again that the “6th sealed judgment”, is a Minnie picture of the great tribulation, the last 3 ½ years of the 7 years tribulation.
Ø Listen as I read the 6th sealed judgment again, a minni picture of the last 3 ½ years.---notice, it’s the 6 the seal judgment, not a trumpet judgment.
7:12-17 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
-------
Last time we read that the Lamb, the Lord Jesus opened the 7th and last seal, and we read in verses 1-6 of chapter 8: that 7 angels prepared them selves to sound the 7 trumpets of judgment, and that as heaven looked on, all of heaven was silent for about ½ an hour as they saw what was in store for the earth dwellers, listen as I read again verses 1-6.
1And when He** had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
2And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
3And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
4And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.
5And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
Notice as the angel cast the fire*{speaks of judgment} onto the earth, the entire world becomes convulsive.
6And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
-------
Let me point out once again, the opening of the seventh seal, the last seal, reveals the second series of judgments. The trumpet judgments, and they are more intense and severe than the seal judgments.
Under the seal judgments, one-fourth of the world’s population, about 1.5 billion people will be killed.
And then the trumpet judgments will kill another third of the worlds population: and then the worst of all; The bowl judgments will leave only a fraction of the world’s initial population alive, and they are wishing they could die and death will flee from them, all these earth dwellers that do die in these horrible judgments suddenly realize that now their worse off than ever before as they lift theirs eyes in hell.
Ø The first four trumpet judgments fall on creation --and the last three trumpet judgments on mankind, called the “woe” judgments (9:1-21).
Listen- 4 of these trumpet judgments fall on creation-4 being the number of creation.
(1) On the fourth day God finished the material creation, the heavens and earth.
Gen.1:14-19 14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
