Mark 11:27 (Amplified Bible)

11:27 And they came again to Jerusalem. And when Jesus was walking about in the [courts and porches of the] temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to Him,

V. THESIS:

Religion is not the way, JESUS is.

Acts 4:12 (The Message)

4:12 Salvation comes no other way; no other name has been or will be given to us by which we can be saved, only this one."

John 14:6 (The Message)

14:6 Jesus said, "I am the Road, also the Truth, also the Life. No one gets to the Father apart from me.

E. Main Theme: CHRIST is the tireless servant of GOD and humanity.

Mark 10:45 (Amplified Bible)

10:45 For even the Son of Man came not to have service rendered to Him, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for (instead of) many.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. They returned to Jerusalem

"And they came again to Jerusalem."

JESUS always goes to a place together with His disciples. It's His Special Team.

Luke 17:11 (Amplified Bible)

17:11 As He went on His way to Jerusalem, it occurred that [Jesus] was passing [along the border] between Samaria and Galilee.

Matthew 21:1 (The Message)

21:1 When they neared Jerusalem, having arrived at Bethphage on Mount Olives, Jesus sent two disciples

Even in His first miracle, JESUS was with His disciples.

John 2:11-12 (The Message)

2:11 This act in Cana of Galilee was the first sign Jesus gave, the first glimpse of his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

2:12 After this he went down to Capernaum along with his mother, brothers, and disciples, and stayed several days.

B. JESUS was walking in the Temple

"And when Jesus was walking about in the [courts and porches of the] temple,"

JESUS was prophesied to come to the Temple but this chief priests and experts in the law, didn't recognized JESUS, didn't applied that prophesy to JESUS.

Malachi 3:1 (The Message)

3:1 "Look! I'm sending my messenger on ahead to clear the way for me. Suddenly, out of the blue, the Leader you've been looking for will enter his Temple—yes, the Messenger of the Covenant, the one you've been waiting for. Look! He's on his way!" A Message from the mouth of God-of-the-Angel-Armies.

John 10:23 (The Message)

10:23 Jesus was strolling in the Temple across Solomon's Porch.

John 18:20 (The Message)

18:20 Jesus answered, "I've spoken openly in public. I've taught regularly in meeting places and the Temple, where the Jews all come together. Everything has been out in the open. I've said nothing in secret.

C. The chief priests, scribes and elders came to JESUS

"the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to Him,"

They came to JESUS criticizing JESUS not coming to Him because they needed Life.

John 14:6 (The Message)

14:6 Jesus said, "I am the Road, also the Truth, also the Life. No one gets to the Father apart from me.

John 8:32 (The Message)

8:32 Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you."

They don't have the attitude of Apostle Paul, humbly coming to JESUS.

1 Timothy 1:15 (The Message)

1:15 Here's a word you can take to heart and depend on: Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. I'm proof—Public Sinner Number One—

IX. CONCLUSION:

Come to JESUS desiring Him not what He does.
