Summary: God's Story, His Story, is our story.

Rethink your story. Mark 1:14-15 NIV

God's story, His Story, is our story.

Creation, the Fall, God's Covenant with man, the need for a Savior

"After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God hhas come near. Repent and believe the good news!"" Mark 1:14-15

Jesus begins to tell the next chapter of God's story. The heart of God's story. Everything has led up to this moment. We are apart of it.

Moments in scripture that are talking about us.

*For God so loved the world...

*Come to me all you who are weary...

*For all have sinned and fallen short.

*Repent and be baptized every one of you...

*What can separate us from the love of God...

The enemy loves to confuse, twist, or change God's story.

Adam and Eve. Did God really say?

Every inclination of man was evil. ... flood.

Creation, Marriage,Gender, Salvation.

It leads us to a decision that will affect our life story greatly.

*Buy into the world's version of God's story, making it our story.

*Rethink our story based on God's Word.

"do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2 NIV

Don't trust your heart. Don't believe everything the world tells you. Ask, Seek, Knock.

Story #1: Good people go to heaven.

That is the world's version of God's story.

Going to heaven has nothing to do with goodness.

It's all about the sacrifice of Jesus and the grace he brings.

God' perfect pleasing will is to give us Jesus.

*The rich young ruler.

Story #2: God wants me to be happy.

God doesn't want me to be in an unhappy marriage.

God wants me to go out there and enjoy life.

What good am I to God if I am not happy?

God's perfect pleasing will is for you to be His. Joy. Peace.

*Man building more barns.

Story #3: There will always be a mountain in front of me.

What is your mountain? Have you lost hope that it will ever change?

*My health will never allow me to be free.

*Finances will always be a heavy burden

*My marriage will never get stronger.

*My child will never come back.

*My wounds will never heal.

*The word of my life is "impossible".

God's perfect pleasing will is for you to trust him to move mountains.

*The Gadarene Demoniac.

Story #4: I have strayed too far for God to save me.

If you only knew what I have done.

Any and all sin can be forgiven. (Blasphemy of the HS)

God's perfect pleasing will is to restore you as His child.

*Prodigal Son

Story #5: I don't have a story to share

I don't know enough, I am not good at talking. No one will listen.

God's perfect pleasing will is for you to impact others.

*Man born blind.
