Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. As Christians, we are also reminded of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and are called to live sacrificially in our daily lives.
Jesus didn't just talk about sacrifice, He lived it. He gave up His life for us. That's the ultimate sacrifice. And because of that, we have the chance to know God and have eternal life.
"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." (John 15:13)
Memorial Day is all about remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. They gave up their lives so we could live in freedom. That deserves our respect and gratitude.
We're also called to live sacrificially. That doesn't mean we have to die for someone, but it does mean we should be willing to put others before ourselves.
So, how can we live this out? Here are a few ideas:
- Show gratitude: Take a moment to thank a veteran or someone currently serving in the military.
- Serve others: Look for ways to help out in your community, school, or even at home.
- Be kind: Sometimes the simplest acts of kindness can make a big difference.

2. Can you share a time when you made a sacrifice for someone else?
3. How does Jesus' sacrifice impact your daily life?
4. How can we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country?
5. What are some ways we can live sacrificially in our daily lives?
