Redeemed To Worship
Contributed by Rev. Samuel Arimoro on Apr 9, 2025 (message contributor)
Summary: You were not just saved from something—you were saved for something. That "something" is a life of intimate worship. Worship is the highest calling of the believer and the greatest offering we can return to our Redeemer.

INTRODUCTION:
Worship is the ultimate purpose for which we were created and redeemed. God's desire from the beginning was to have a people who would love Him, serve Him, and worship Him from the depths of their hearts. Our redemption through Christ is not just an escape from sin, but an invitation into an intimate life of worship with the Father.
God told Pharaoh through Moses, "Let my people go, that they may serve (worship) me" (Exodus 8:1). This reveals that deliverance is not an end in itself but a means to a greater purpose—worship. We are redeemed from bondage not to be idle but to enter into a relationship that glorifies God through worship.
In a world filled with noise and distractions, the redeemed must rediscover the essence of true worship—not rituals or routines, but a lifestyle that honours God. Worship is not just an act; it is an identity. We were saved to worship!
1. REDEMPTION RECONNECTS US TO GOD
Through redemption, the barrier between us and God is broken, allowing true fellowship.
a) Sin separated us from God's presence
Isaiah 59:2 – Your iniquities have separated between you and your God.
b) Christ reconciled us through His blood
Ephesians 2:13 – Ye who were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
c) We now have access to worship boldly
Hebrews 10:19 – We enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus.
d) Worship is now based on relationship, not rituals
John 1:12 – As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God.
Biblical Example: The Veil of the Temple
At Christ’s death, the veil was torn, signifying open access to God's presence (Matthew 27:51).
2. TRUE WORSHIP IS SPIRITUAL AND SINCERE
God is Spirit, and He desires worship that flows from the spirit and aligns with truth.
a) Worship is not confined to places but to the heart
John 4:21 – The hour cometh when you shall neither in this mountain nor Jerusalem worship.
b) Worship must be led by the Holy Spirit
Romans 8:15 – We cry, Abba, Father, by the Spirit.
c) Sincerity is the foundation of acceptable worship
Psalm 24:4 – He that hath clean hands and a pure heart.
d) Truth is found in alignment with God's Word
John 17:17 – Thy Word is truth.
Biblical Example: The Woman at the Well
Jesus redirected her from tradition to truth, teaching her what true worship means (John 4:19-24).
3. WORSHIP IS A LIFESTYLE, NOT AN EVENT
Worship goes beyond music and moments—it’s how we live daily.
a) Presenting ourselves as living sacrifices is worship
Romans 12:1 – This is your reasonable service.
b) Our obedience is an act of worship
1 Samuel 15:22 – To obey is better than sacrifice.
c) Daily holiness is a form of worship
1 Peter 1:16 – Be ye holy; for I am holy.
d) We worship by living to glorify God
1 Corinthians 10:31 – Whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Biblical Example: Abraham
Abraham’s willingness to offer Isaac was an act of worship (Genesis 22:5).
4. REDEEMED WORSHIPPERS INFLUENCE THEIR WORLD
True worship transforms lives and impacts others around us.
a) Worship invites God's presence and power
Psalm 22:3 – God inhabits the praises of His people.
b) Our worship can lead others to Christ
Acts 16:25 – Paul and Silas worshipped, and others heard them.
c) Worship shifts atmospheres and breaks chains
2 Chronicles 20:22 – God set ambushes when they sang and praised.
d) Worship aligns our hearts with heaven's agenda
Matthew 6:10 – Thy kingdom come, thy will be done.
Biblical Example: Paul and Silas
Their worship in prison led to supernatural deliverance and salvation of others (Acts 16:25-34).
5. HEAVEN CELEBRATES THE WORSHIP OF THE REDEEMED
Eternal life is a continuation of worship that started on earth.
a) The redeemed will worship forever before God
Revelation 7:9-10 – A great multitude worshipping before the throne.
b) Our worship now prepares us for eternity
Colossians 3:1-2 – Set your affection on things above.
c) Heaven rejoices in the Lamb who redeemed us
Revelation 5:9 – Thou art worthy… for thou wast slain.
d) Earthly worship is a foretaste of heavenly glory
Hebrews 12:28 – We serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
Biblical Example: The 24 Elders and the Angels
They worship the Lamb endlessly in heaven with songs of praise (Revelation 5:11-14).
