Summary: Psalm 114:7-8 states, “7 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; 8 he seats them with princes, with the princes of his people.

RAISE ME FROM THE DUST O LORD!

What is dust? Dust is a collection of microscopic particles that can be made up of many different things, including:

Natural materials: Sand, soil, pollen, ash, smoke, and salt crystals

Organic materials: Dead skin cells, animal dander, hair, and fragments of dead insects.

Dust represents certain situations in the word of God

Death: The phrase "from dust to dust" implies that dust is the absence of existence, either before or after life. This verse is often quoted at funerals to remind us of the fleeting nature of life.

Curse: In the Bible, the serpent is cursed to eat a diet of dust.

Uncleanness: In later Jewish writings, dirt from Gentile regions was considered unclean. Shaking the dust off your feet was a way to say that even their dirt was unclean.

Damnation: By the dust also which was formerly put on the head when in grief and repentance, is signified that which is damned, as in these Bible passages:

The elders of the daughter of Zion sit on the earth, they keep silence; they have made dust come up upon their head; they have girded themselves with sackcloth; the virgins of Jerusalem have made their head come down to the earth (Lam. 2:10).

They shall cry bitterly, and shall make dust come up upon their heads, they shall roll themselves in the ashes (Ezek. 27:30).

Weeping weep not in the house of Aphrah; roll thyself in the dust (Micah 1:10).

They cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing (Rev. 18:19);

The desert is filled with dust. Dried soil with no hope of moisture. Certain spirits are called desert spirits and when such operate in the life of a human, he/she begins to have certain negative experiences. The desert is a dry and deserted place filled with dust; it is a wasteland.

Examples of Spiritually affected dust situations:

Dreams about wading in the dust can signify closeness to death.

A victim of the dust suffers reverses in financial fortunes.

In

A victim of the dust suffers inexplicable dislike and hatred from others for no known reason.

The first sign of decay is usually a dusty setting. An abandoned mansion or car, no matter how beautifully built or manufactured will show collected dust and will require removal of the dust and further deep cleaning or restoration to come back to its original state.

We need not be victims of the dust. A victim of the dust is one who suffers a loss situation through one of the situations we have expanded on above. It’s spiritual so it needs to be addressed spiritually.

God’s word helps us. Remember John 6:63, where Jesus says, “the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” . The word of God is spirit and life. It quickens and makes whole. It restores and gives hope.

In the Bible, dust is also seen as a basic ingredient with the potential for new life. For example, in Genesis 2:7, God formed a man from dust and breathed life into him. Jesus also used dust to restore a man's sight.

Psalm 40:2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings. He brought me out if the miry clay

Psalm 114:7-8 states, “7 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap;

8 he seats them with princes, with the princes of his people.

Isaiah 52:2 states, “Shake off your dust; rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, Daughter Zion, now a captive.”

The anointing of God can restore to lift up and bring back what is mired in filth, those who have heaped dust on their heads in sadness and grief, those who have suffered life changing poverty.

Prayers;

Lord raise me up from the depths of poverty of ideas, poverty of wisdom and poverty of finances in the name of Jesus

By the Blood of Jesus reverse my spirit from eternal damnation in the name if Jesus

Lord sit me with the princes of commerce and business and enlarge my coast.

Let the whirlwind of God free me from every dust situation. Let it free me from every chain in the name of Jesus.

Lord, free me from every situation causing me grief and denied joy

Lord reverse my destiny from the control of any desert spirits in the name of Jesus
