Pursue Something Bigger
Contributed by Benjamin Suulola on Mar 21, 2024 (message contributor)
Summary: Change will always require stretching, but that’s where power to Breakfree from status quo is generated. No change that is positive and profitable comes by trying to hold steady when God is saying you should stir things up.
It is time to break status quo! I don’t know what it means to you. But this is the Word so strong in my spirit for someone this season!
You have dwelt so much in the arena of status quo. You have overstayed your welcome in the valley of coping and indecision. We never grow during status quo! It’s only in the stretch.
Stretch toward Something Bigger!
Change will always require stretching, but that’s where power to Breakfree from status quo is generated.
No change that is positive and profitable comes by trying to hold steady when God is saying you should stir things up.
Yesterday, I shared with the Leaders in the Church about Getting Discomforted in the Comfort Zone! This is how to stretch and pursue Something Bigger.
We are presently in a season that many people have lost the direction of their lives to prevailing circumstances; tossing them off balance.
Circumstances are stirring our comfort nest and we are still not standing up out of our boat to demand of Christ a beckoning to walk on the waters.
Change does not happen in the comfort zone, except change that leads to the outcome we don’t desire.
I once entered into a dire need to ask myself who sets the course of my advancement NOW!
It was then I realized we can get to the point where we are not intentional, purposeful and deliberate in the direction our lives and assignments takes.
Sometimes, our lack or loss of intentionality happens because we feel helpless in changing our situation for something better and bigger.
But how do we Pursue Something Bigger than what we have settled down in?
1. Don’t be Interested in Staying the Same!
We must have a burning desire to increase our capacity in all areas of our lives. We can’t stay content and still be complaining that we want something different.
Whenever we really want to experience any great change, it begins with us. We can’t see change happen when we are still interested in staying the same way we have ever been.
2. Take Responsibility for Change
Increasing our capacity to unstay the same is not someone’s else responsibility. It is your responsibility.
The Lord teaches me everyday that I must never complain about what can only change by my right response. It is important we become conscious of this daily.
Take responsibility for what need to change! You must not wish, think or blame someone else for what is your responsibility.
Your being responsible may not change the world but it will change your world.
Thank You Jesus!
