Purpose Of People

Summary: A look at why we were created, and how the purpose of man, According to God is still the same as the purpose He gave Adam.
Purpose of People
Genesis 1:26 English Standard Version
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
People are looking for purpose, we look to our creator, our inventor, the artist that made man. Ephesians 2:10 Paul says we are God’s masterpiece. Webster’s says a masterpiece is an artist greatest accomplishment. Not a sunrise on the beach, not the mountains over in East Tennessee but we, humanity are the work God, the greatest artist/craftsmen of all time says you are His masterpiece.
1. You are made in the image of God.
a. He loves you like you love your children, because like you with your kids He sees himself in you.
Why did God make us? 2 parts
2. To be with Him- have children to be with them
a. Unconditional Love
b. Then why would God give us the opportunity to sin? Because love is not a situation, it’s a choice God gave Adam. Our thoughts are wrong. Genesis 2:16-17
God always gives us more luxuries than limitations it is just where we choose to focus
He created us as His children, for the same reason we want kids, Love
Just like you would, when His children faced death, He jumped in front of the bullet in our place to save our lives why? Because of His love
3. To be His ambassador in the Earth
a. He set up man, to make sure everything ran correctly, as His voice to creation and the enemy, but we gave up that power
b. Jesus gave it back. Now it is our job in the Kingdom to be God’s voice on the Earth.
