Summary: Living a holy life is a choice. If you decide to live a holy life, God will provide the necessary help needed to overcome the temptation.

Are we pure when no one is watching? Is their purity in our secret places? Are our secret places pure, sacred and Holy? Is it filled with filth and all kinds of evil things? What are you doing when we are in our rooms (or secret places) faced with temptations, when it’s easy to sin, and when no one is watching? Are we resisting, confronting or running away from that sin or are we choosing to indulge in the pleasure of that sin?

Its significant choice: even a small deviation or mistake can alter the purpose and direction of our life. In secret places, no one is watching but God is watching. The decisions we make in secret places about living a holy life are rewarded openly by God.

And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”

But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”

So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her. Genesis 39:7-10

Joseph faced the temptation with his master’s wife when he was alone, and he could easily commit a sin. Even though no one else was looking, he knew God was watching. He knew God was with him, and God eyes are fixed upon him. He knew that the sin was great wickedness before God. He chose to be persecuted for living a holy life rather than committing the sin. Despite recurrent or constant temptation to commit sin, Joseph never gave in or committed the sin. Joseph resisted the temptation day after day. Is this your experience or have you given in to that temptation. If you are resisting sin, you have a healthy spiritual life. If you've given in to sin, your spiritual life is unhealthy.

Living a holy life is a choice. If you decide to live a holy life, God will provide the necessary help needed to overcome the temptation. Sometimes you need to run away from the temptation, sometimes you need to resist, but you must make the decision to live a holy life. It is easy to live in sin, but it is extremely difficult to live a holy and consecrated lifestyle. Sometimes like Joseph, you might be persecuted for living a holy Life. Holy people and holiness are missing in Christian circles. These days, too much worldliness entered the churches. God is first and foremost a Holy God, then he is a loving Father. Without holiness and holy living, it’s difficult to walk with God.

Secret places are sacred places – holy and consecrated unto the Lord. Is our secret place filled with filth (lust) or is it a place of prayer? Secret places are places when you are alone. You face temptations in this place, but as you overcome them, it becomes a place of prayer. Secret places are places where God speaks. But these days, these secret places are filled with so much filth. What we are in secret is who we truly are.

Are our secret places – places where you meet God or for secret sins? Do check it. Purity and holiness are missing so much in our lives. If purity and holiness are missing, we live in confusion and lack direction. Holiness in secret places brings many promotions and blessings in our life. God rewards the decisions (about living a holy life) that we make in our secret places.

Start making a decision to live a holy life and see how much your life will be filled with direction and hope for better future. Holiness and holy living is the covering under which all promises come to pass.
