Psalms Part 2 (Written When I Was A Captain)

BOOK 1 (GENESIS / SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD)

I. PSALM 19: 1 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”

This scripture inspired me as I used to study astronomy in high school with big telescopes. I saw the amazing things God created in the universe, and I realized how powerful He is.

PSALM 19: 14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” This is used by many preachers.

3 PSALMS ABOUT THE MESSIAH

There are 60 major prophecies of “The Anointed One” and 270 ramifications of them in the Old Testament, written several hundred years before they were fulfilled. The odds of this are astronomical!

II. PSALM 22 – A CRY OF ANGUISH, A Psalm of David

For the director of music. To the tune of “The Doe of the Morning” (WHAT TUNE?:)

1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (QUOTED BY CHRIST.)

Why are you so far from saving me,

so far from the words of my groaning?

2 O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,

by night, and am not silent. (Sometimes God says yes, no, or wait.)

3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;

(Thou that inhabitest the praises – KJV) So evil can’t be here.

you are the praise of Israel,

4 In you our fathers put their trust;

they trusted and you delivered them.

5 They cried to you and were saved;

in you they trusted and were not disappointed.

6 But I am a worm and not a man,

scorned by men and despised by the people.

(CHRIST WAS MOCKED.)

7 All who see me mock me;

they hurl insults, shaking their heads:

8 “He trusts in the LORD;

let the LORD rescue him.

Let him deliver him,

since he delights in him.”

14 I am poured out like water,

and all my bones are out of joint.

My heart has turned to wax;

it has melted away within me.

(CHRIST’S BLOOD SPILLED. Christ literally died of a broken heart for us.
