Remind us of God's unwavering faithfulness and love, and that all His promises to us are guaranteed and affirmed in Him.
Good morning, family! We have gathered here today to delve into God's word and explore the profound lessons that He has for us.
We will be focusing on 2 Corinthians 1:20 which says,
"For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us."
This scripture reminds us of God's faithfulness, His unfailing love, and His comforting presence that are always with us. As we navigate through life's ups and downs, we can sometimes forget that God has promised to be with us every step of the way.
As Max Lucado once said, "God loves you just the way you are, but He refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be just like Jesus." This quote is a beautiful reminder that God's love for us is unchanging and unwavering. He loves us at our lowest and at our highest.
Let's bow our heads in prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for your faithfulness, your comforting presence, and your unfailing love. As we delve into your word today, open our hearts and minds to receive your wisdom and guidance. Help us to understand your promises and to trust in your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
God's faithfulness is the assurance that God is true to His word and His promises. It is the confidence that He will do what He has said He will do, and that He will be who He has said He will be. It is the certainty that God is reliable, dependable, and trustworthy.
Its constancy: Unlike human faithfulness, which can waver and falter, God's faithfulness is steadfast and unchanging. It is not subject to fluctuations or variations. It does not depend on our behavior or our circumstances. It is not influenced by our failures or our successes. It is not affected by our doubts or our fears. It remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.
It’s comprehensive: It encompasses all areas of our lives. It covers our spiritual needs, our emotional needs, our physical needs, and our relational needs. It extends to our past, our present, and our future. It reaches into every corner of our existence, leaving no stone unturned, no issue unaddressed, no problem unsolved. It is a faithfulness that is all-encompassing, all-inclusive, and all-sufficient.
It’s personal: It is not a distant, detached, or impersonal faithfulness. It is a faithfulness that is intimately connected to us, deeply involved with us, and passionately concerned for us. It is a faithfulness that knows us by name, that understands our thoughts, that feels our emotions, that shares our joys, and that bears our sorrows. It is a faithfulness that walks with us, talks with us, listens to us, and speaks to us. It is a faithfulness that is closer than a brother, more faithful than a friend, and more loving than a father.
It’s redemptive: It is a faithfulness that saves, heals, restores, and transforms. It is a faithfulness that forgives our sins, cleanses our unrighteousness, renews our minds, and changes our hearts. It is a faithfulness that turns our mourning into dancing, our ashes into beauty, our despair into hope, and our death into life. It is a faithfulness that brings us out of darkness into His marvelous light, out of bondage into His glorious freedom, and out of death into His eternal life.
It’s glorifying: It brings glory to His name, honor to His character, and praise to His majesty. It magnifies His goodness, exalts His greatness, and celebrates His grace. It testifies of His love, proclaims His power, and declares His sovereignty. It reveals His holiness, displays His wisdom, and manifests His presence. It is a faithfulness that is worthy of our worship, deserving of our devotion, and demanding of our dedication.
