Lessons on Thankfulness from a Leper
Jesus meets ten lepers
One of them will son be a thankful man
BODY:
I. The Lepers Call to Jesus (vv. 12-13)
a. When Jesus saw the lepers
i. As He entered the village
ii. They stood afar off as was commanded (Lev. 13:46)
b. Leprosy pictures the sinful state of us all
c. “Jesus, Master, have mercy upon us”
i. Our Lord is rich in mercy
ii. His mercies are new every morning (Lam. 3:22-23)
iii. They have called on the right Man
II. The Lepers Cleansed by Jesus (v. 14)
a. Our Lord’s look of compassion: “when he saw them”
b. Jesus responded to their call
c. Why “Go, show yourselves to the priests”?
i. His commanded demanded faith
ii. The priest had authority to pronounce them clean

ii. He had been homeless. Now he could go home

c. We ought to be as thankful as this cleansed leper
