The Greatness of His Power Text: Ephesians 1: 19-23
19 I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. 21Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or in the world to come. 22And God has put all things under the authority of Christ, and he gave him this authority for the benefit of the church. 23And the church is his body; it is filled by Christ, who fills everything everywhere with his presence.
Introduction: God is in control! It might seem that He’s way off, but He sees all, know’s all and He’s all-powerful! Paul once again prays that we would understand the incredible greatness of God’s power! Remember this, all enlightenment and all change can only come through understanding! (If you don’t understand the procedure in solving a problem will you solve it?) No!
I. #1.God wishes for us to understand His mighty power! What’s the first step found in vs. 19 to understanding God’s mighty power? Believing!
A. If you won’t believe in yourself; you sure can’t believe that God can do something extreme! 1.Godly friends. 2. High school Education. 3. The right College. 4. Godly mate. 5. Right job. 6. Family’s health!
B. #2. God wants you to understand that you have the same power with-in, that raised Christ up from the dead and seated Him at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms!
C. Many teens are looking for power; most of the time power in the wrong places, but Jesus Christ offers you the greatest power of all if you will just decide to walk in it!
D. #3. God desires for you to know that He’s the Man! Vs. 21Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or in the world to come.
E. Therefore, if you serve Jesus Christ your following the man! If other’s say, “ Come do what I’m doing.” You can say back, “ Why should I follow something that is inferior!” Follow the man!
F. #4. God gave Christ authority for you! You are very important unto Him! He wants you to have the inside scoop, “ You’re a winner!”
G. #5. We are Jesus’ body here on earth! Vs.23 And the church is his body; it is filled by Christ, who fills everything everywhere with his presence.
H. If we belong unto Christ, who are we filled with? Christ!
I. Hear me, if something great gets done it’s because of us following Christ! Listen, Jesus Christ is depending on us, and it’s not a task we can’t do, all you have to do is be, do and believe!
