The Dinosaur Hunter

ON A GRAY DAY MILLIONS OF YEARS AGO, A HUGE HERD OF duckbill dinosaurs undulated like a vast green and brown oil slick across the grassless, fern-covered plain. The sound of low grunts accompanied the thunder of their footsteps, while nearby, groups of small, pack-hunting predators lurked among the stands of palms, hoping to catch one of the 25-foot-long creatures off guard. The air was spotted with volcanic plumes from the newly arisen Rocky Mountains to the west; far to the east lay a shallow sea where pterodactyls swirled and dived along a coastline lush with vegetation. Suddenly, one of the nearby volcanos exploded in a burst of hot ash and fire. Although the panicked duckbills tried to flee, they were caught in the deadly gas and ash and entombed for eternity.
Or, at least, until Jack Horner dug them up 75 million years later.

A cool and misty dawn, circa 78 million B.C. A lone triceratops interrupts a leisurely meal of ferns and twigs to glance around uneasily. Though the 11-ton creature is an intellectual lightweight, it senses the danger lurking in the surrounding forest. >The Bible refers to many the common animals we know today. The list includes lions, wolves, bears, sheep, cattle and dogs along with various kinds of birds, rodents, reptiles, and insects. What is interesting is that this extensive list includes three animals that we no longer recognize.

The tale begins with a dragon making its nest at the spring which provides a city-state with water. Consequently, the citizens had to temporarily remove the dragon from its nest in order to collect water. To do so, they offered the dragon a daily human sacrifice. The victim of the day was chosen by drawing lots. Eventually the "winner" of this lottery happened to be the local princess. The local Monarch is occasionally depicted begging for her life with no result. She is offered to the dragon but at this point a travelling George arrives. He faces the dragon, slays it and saves the princess. The grateful citizens then abandon their ancestral Paganism and convert to Christianity

Jeremiah 14:4-6 (KJV)4 Because the ground is chapt, (cracked) for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads. 5 Yea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook it, because there was no grass. 6 And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.
A flying serpent in the Bible: the ‘fiery flying serpent’ (Isa. 30:6). This could be a reference to one of the pterodactyls, which are popularly thought of as flying dinosaurs, such as the Pteranodon, Rhamphorhynchus or Ornithocheirus.

I believe a better choice is that Behemoth is a Brachiosaurus type of large land dwelling dinosaur. It fits the description perfect.

Is 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
Dr. Morris has a theory that the extinction of the dinosaur was predicted by God in Job when he said that His "sword" could reach leviathan. (4, pg. 123) This may also have been implied in Isaiah when He said "His ‘strong sword’ would punish leviathan." (4, pg. 123) In Psalms 74:13-14 we read, "Thou breakest the heads of the dragons in the waters. Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the peoples inhabiting the wilderness." This could also be a type of the destruction of Satan. The passage in Job could well have been God’s announcement that Satan’s fate was sealed.
Meaning Today
> Although the behemoth was the strongest of all land animals,
God said that "He that made him can make His sword to approach unto him" (Job 40:19)
> Leviathan, the greatest of the ocean animals, God said that even the leviathan could not "stand before me" (Job 41:34,10) No one but the Creator God could be so fierce as to dare arouse the beasts. Therefore, how could man stand before God and question His wisdom or motives?
- Evolution, at best, attempts to prove existence without the requirement of a Creator. At its worst, which I believe to be the case, the teachings of evolution are underwritten by Satan himself to undermine faith in God and Christ.
