Computer games are enormously popular in South Korea, home to professional gamers who earn big money through sponsorships and television stations devoted to broadcasting matches. Hence, the following article appeared in the main Seoul Newspaper yesterday.
Korean Dies After Two Days of Computer Games

SEOUL, South Korea - A 28-year-old South Korean man died of exhaustion in an Internet cafe after playing computer games nonstop for 49 hours, South Korean police said Wednesday.
Lee, a resident in the southern city of Taegu who was identified only by his last name, collapsed Friday after having eaten minimally and not sleeping, refusing to leave his keyboard while he played the battle simulation game Starcraft.
Lee was quickly moved to a hospital but died after a few hours, due to what doctors are presuming was a heart attack, police said. Lee had been fired from his job last month because he kept missing work to play computer games, police said.
I. INTRODUCTION:
A. Do we know our potential? Do we realize there is in God a new dimension of faith that can reach beyond our ability?
B. Paul and Jan Crouch have reached beyond their human ability?
C. T. D. Jakes has reached far beyond what he could have by human means. Jakes went from foodstamps to one of the greatest speakers of this day. This was achieved by God not by man’s promotion.
D. Look at Billy Graham, a friend to the Presidents, Billy walked in Divine Possibilities.
II. WILL WE EVER KNOW THE MORE OF DIVINE POSSIBILITIES?
A. Have we reached into the realm of Divine Possibilities? I think not, we have dreamed, but our dreams are so small that we miss the potential of God.
You cannot let your size determine your dream!
B. I am told that if you put some kinds of fish into a very small bowl they will stay small all of their
life. If you place that same small fish in a huge pond that fish will grow to be large.
Your attitudes, your mind set, your faith will release growth or you will be forever a miniature Christian. It is up to you?
C. WILL WE RECOGNIZE THE NEED OF PERSISTENCE TO RELEASE GOD’S PLAN?
Is God’s possibility beyond our hope? Will we reach beyond here?
Faith can enlarge us beyond our limitations.
Sometimes our dreams and visions have not been accomplished so we quit dreaming and then
we allow our menial daily life to dictate to our dreaming ability. God does not want us to limit
our possibilities because we have tasted defeat.
Defeat and failure must not drive us to kill our dream’s ability. Dream again! Dream big!
There is a prophetic message: Blessed is he who expects nothing for he shall receive exactly
what he expected.
III. WILL WE BE IMPRISONED BY THE BARS OF BONE?
DO WE BELIEVE IN DIVINE POSSIBILITIES AND DREAM OF HIS RELEASE?
I often say there are three important questions every believer must ask.
A. Question #1: Can God do this for me?
This is the entry level of faith. We must accept God can, or we might as well join some social club.
B. Question #2: Can God (will God) do this for me?
Few learn to dwell here in their faith.
Many can believe that God can, but they are never sure if God will do this for me.
C. Question #3: When will God do this for me?
Wow, what a deep level of faith is required to believe God can, God can for me, God can for me today.
Can we walk to the fiery furnace and trust God while we are feeling the heat?
D. My spirit man cries loud, “GOD, I KNOW THERE IS MORE THAN THIS.”
I am very thankful for this, but can we all agree there is MORE?
E. SOME ONE HAS TO SEE THAT GOD KNOWS OUR CASE, AND GOD HAS A PLAN THAT WILL LOOSE A DIVINE POSSIBILITY, DELIVERANCE FOR US.
F. Today we seldom reach above our potential and we do not accept there is more.
There is the realm of Divine Possibilities! We must speak to this spiritual realm and reach for God’s plan.
The closer we are to God and His son Jesus the better we can hear Him.
It is high time within the church that we speak blessing and release the Divine possibilities
that bring release. This is serious and we need to learn the power of coming close and being in
the center of His will. We want more than warming at a distant fire!
IV. LORD, WE NEED THE DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY OF DIVINE POSSIBILITIES OPENED! WE HAVE TOO LONG ASKED FOR CRUMBS FROM THE TABLE?
WE WALK IN THE DAYS OF A SPIRITUAL FEAST NOT A FAMINE OF THE WORD.
Luke 11:5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, FRIEND, LEND ME THREE LOAVES;
6. For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? 7. And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door now is shut, and my children are in bed with me; I CANNOT RISE AND GIVE THEE. 8. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. 9. And I say unto you, ASK, and it shall be given you; SEEK, and ye shall find;
KNOCK and it shall be opened unto you!
DEFINE:
A. IMPORTUNITY:
--- Overly persistent in request or demand.
--- Troublesomely urgent
--- Assertive
B. DETERMINATION:
--- A decision that settles and ends controversy.
--- The resolving of a question.
--- The power or habit of settling, deciding.
---A fixing of the value, evaluation, assessment
C. PERSEVERANCE --- PERSISTENCE:
---To go on resolutely or stubbornly despite
opposition.
--- To continue past the expected or normal time.
--- To continue, to keep on.
D. PATIENT --- PATIENCE:
--- THE CAPACITY OR HABIT OR FACT TO BEAR PAINS AND TRIALS CALMLY OR WITHOUT COMPLAINT.
--- Forbearance under provocation or strain.
--- Steadfast despite opposition, difficulty, or adversity.
--- A person waiting treatment or change.
E. COA OR DOA, YOUR CHOICE?
What is COA? COURSE OF ACTION!
What is DOA? DEAD ON ARRIVAL!
If we do not develop a Course of Action and move to God’s Plan or else we shall die.
F. UNEXPECTED:
There was a great problem in the house, unexpected company had come.
Don’t you wish that all problems had to give you a three months notice?
Don’t you wish problems could only come one at a time, and then you get a vacation before the next problem?
G. DO YOU WANT CHEESE WITH YOUR WHINE?
I HAVE NOTHING TO SET BEFORE HIM?
When we have nothing, what will we do?
Cry? Complain? Whine?
H. THERE IS A WAY, THERE IS A SOURCE, THERE IS A FRIEND, THERE IS A COURSE OF ACTION! GET UP AND HEAD TOWARD THE SOURCE.
The man would not get up and help, BUT BECAUSE OF HIS IMPORTUNITY!
HE WILL ARISE AND GIVE HIM AS HE NEEDED.
I. WE SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO BE FAITHFUL TO PRAY AND SEEK DIVINE POSSIBILITIES --- THERE IS A THREE FOLD PROMISE TO THE FAITHFUL:
1. ASK AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN.
2. SEEK AND YOU WILL FIND.
3. KNOCK AND IT WILL BE OPENED.
V. GOD KNOWS YOUR INNER DETERMINATION AND YOUR INNER DISCIPLINES AND YOUR INNER RESTRAINTS. THESE WILL DECLARE YOUR STRENGTH OR YOUR FAINTING.
A. As long as a person imagines he cannot do this, or he cannot do that, as long as one is determined not to do something, IT BECOMES IMPOSSIBLE TO HIM!
B. DEFINE SPIRITUAL?
C. WHAT DETERMINES OPINIONS?
PROBABLY TODAY FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS WILL DETERMINE OUR OPINIONS?
THIS IS SAD, THE CHRISTIAN OPINION SHOULD BE DETERMINED BY THE WORD AND BY THE RELEASE OF FAITH.
C. Many today come like the Syrophenician Woman, AND WE SEEK THE CRUMBS FROM THE MASTER’S TABLE? Will we accept DOG’S FOOD FOR US AND OUR CHILDREN?
Matthew 15: 25. Then she came and worshipped him, saying, LORD, HELP ME. 26 But Jesus answered and said: IT IS NOT MEET TO TAKE FROM THE CHILDREN’S BREAD,
and cast it to the dogs. 27. And she said, Truth Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters table.
D. It is a beautiful point that this Syrophenican Woman was willing to take the crumbs from the table.
She asked for a miracle at a dispensation that was not quiet ripe or ready.
E. Today there is a FINE FEAST SPREAD before every believer, don’t settle for the crumbs.
F. Don’t settle for the PERMISSIVE WILL OF GOD.
FIND THE PERFECT DIVINE WILL FOR YOU AND ASK BOLDLY.
Speak boldly in the name of Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore COME BOLDLY unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in a TIME OF NEED!
VI. FORTY YEARS OF DESERT MURMURING CANNOT STOP THE DETERMINATION OF GOD’S MAN!
I WANT MY MOUNTAIN! GOD PROMISED IT! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!!
Joshua 14:11. As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. 12. NOW therefore GIVE ME this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day, the Anakims are there, their cities are great and fenced, if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said. 13. And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb ---
14. ---Because that Joshua wholly followed the Lord God.
VII. THERE IS A RELIGIOUS CRY THAT SAYS SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP! WE MUST ARISE ABOVE WHAT OTHERS SAY!
A. Does it amaze you how people can act at ball parks and in gyms?
Then they come to church and go to sleep?
B. Something is wrong when God’s people are more excited about a Touchdown or a Home run than about God’s Amazing Grace.
Matthew 20: 30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, WHEN THEY HEARD THAT JESUS PASSED BY, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, Thou Son of David. 31. And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, HAVE MERCY ON US, O, Lord, thou Son of David.
VIII. HAVE YOU HEARD? DO YOU KNOW? THERE IS AN EVERLASTING GOD WITH GREAT DIVINE POSSIBILITIES BEYOND WHAT WE CAN DO!
Isaiah 40: 28. Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard? that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, FAITHETH NOT, NEITHER IS WEARY? There is no searching of His Understanding.
29. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30. Even when the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount upon with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
IX. I WILL NOT LET GO, EXCEPT THOU BLESS ME!
Genesis 32:26 And the angel said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And Jacob said, I WILL NOT LET THEE GO, EXCEPT THOU BLESS ME!
Proverbs 24:10. If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
X. THERE MUST BE A BRIDGE FOR THE TROJAN HORSE TO COME ACROSS THE GAP.
II Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
II Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lust shall heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.
Don’t give the enemy opportunity to bring harm to the camp!
XI. WRONGFUL PRIORITIES WITHIN THE FAMILY AND THE CHURCH! DIVERTED OR DETOURED DESIRES?
Matthew 6:33 But SEEK YOU FIRST the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED unto you.
A. IT IS ALWAYS TOO SOON TO QUIT.
TRY AGAIN, THEN TRY AGAIN, AND AGAIN. GOD BLESSES EFFORTS.
B. Will we be like the individual that had a need and with importunity kept knocking until the friend decided I must help them, or else there will be no sleep?
C. Are you determined? Will you let this obstacle bring you to a miracle?
D. Sometimes the absolute worse thing that could ever happen is the best thing that ever happened.
E. THIS TO SHALL PASS! WE CAN!
Move in great perseverance and release God’s Divine Plan and Possibilities for you!
Will you wait on God’s plan? You have heard about Job’s patience, has anyone ever heard about yours?
F. DON’T BE DOA, DEVELOP A COA!
You don’t have to die in the wilderness? There is a mountain for you, a mountain of Divine Possibilities?
