KNOW YOUR DIVINE MISSION?

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together to them that love God, to them who are the called ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.
11 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as HE PURPOSETH IN HIS HEART, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
1. DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR PURPOSE AND MISSIONS ARE?
Why are you alive? Why does God give His people another day?
As a whole do you think the average Christian knows what their mission is?
Is the church preparing saints to accomplish their mission?
If we do not know our mission, how can we ever accomplish our mission?
If we don’t realize we have a mission will we ever really be prepared to launch out and do our work?
If parents don’t know their mission, how can they ever successfully teach their children their mission?
2. DEFINE PURPOSE AND MISSION?
A. DEFINE PURPOSE: something set up for an end, goal to attain, determination, by intent, to propose as an aim,
A man that is tenacious in purpose is not easily shaken.
The devil can cite scripture for his purpose.
What is the final end of your purpose?
B. Define mission:
--- To be sent --- to entrust --- the act of sending --- a calling --- ministry commissioned to propagate faith --- assignment --- directional and financial support ---
C. There are two basic mission directions:
1. TO GO
Spell God ---GO-d
Spell gospel --- GO-spel
2. TO SEND
If we can’t go and touch every place, then we have
a duty to help send others that can.
3. GOD LOVES A GIVER THAT GIVES ON PURPOSE!
Today much of charity is NEED BASED.
You advertise the need and people will give.
GOD’S GIVING PLAN IS A PURPOSETH HEART, LOVE GIVING, PLANNED GIVING, REGULAR-FAITHFUL
GIVING.

4. SOMEONE MUST SEE THE NEED BEFORE REAL MINISTRY CAN OCCUR!
There was a great need, there were two widows that were just barely making it.
Their kinsman redeemer paid no interest in the struggling widows. There was no social security
system, there was no insurance policies.
Ruth 2:2 And Ruth said unto Naomi, LET ME GO to the field, and glean corn, I SHALL FIND GRACE!
Ruth and Naomi seemed to be trapped in despair, but God had a MAN WITH A PURPOSE!
BOAZ SAW THE NEED, BOAZ KNEW THE BEAUTY OF GIVING ON PURPOSE.
The beauty of this story is found in a man named Boaz;
Ruth 2:16 And let fall also some of THE HANDFULS OF PURPOSE FOR HER!
5. JESUS KNEW HIS PURPOSE AND HIS MISSION AND WAS A GIVER!
JESUS WAS A PURPOSEFUL GIVER.
Matthew 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give
his life a ransom for many.
Today so many want to know what the church is going to do for them.
I agree that we should not use people to build the church, but that we should use the church to
build people. But there must be love enough to release a giving heart.
Jesus came to give.
6. JESUS’ PURPOSE AND MISSION WAS TO ALWAYS REACH BEYOND HUMAN LIMITATIONS!
John 6:27 Labor not for the meat which perishes, but that meat which endures unto everlasting life,
which the Son of man shall GIVE unto you: for Him hath the Father sealed.
33. For the bread of God is He which comes down from heaven, and GIVETH life unto the world.
34. Then said they unto Him, Lord, ever more give us this bread.
7. HAVE YOU EVER LOST YOUR MISSION? HAVE YOU EVER LOST JESUS?
IS IT HARD TO LOSE YOUR MISSION AND THUS THE SON OF GOD?
Mary lost Jesus? Ponder how Mary lost Jesus?
Mary was busy doing religious duties? Joseph was busy? Three days without Jesus, could this be possible?
Mary had a mission! Joseph had a mission and they lost Jesus!
They had both assumed Jesus was with the other.
After a long scary search they found Jesus, Jesus was not lost, he knew what his business was.
Luke 2: 49 And Jesus said unto them, How is it that you sought me?
WIST YOU NOT THAT I MUST BE ABOUT MY FATHER’S BUSINESS?
Are you actively pursuing God’s mission for your life?
Are you an alcoholic? Of course not? Are you a drug addict? Of course not?
Are you a television-aholic? Be honest? More time in front of the TV than the Bible?
Please, don’t lose Jesus!
8. JESUS KNEW WHERE HE NEEDED TO GO! JESUS HAD A DIRECTION TO GO!
John 4:4 And Jesus MUST NEEDS GO through Samaria.
The last time Jesus was in the Samaria area there was a cold reception, the sons of Thunder were
ready to burn the town down!
Jesus warned the good ol’ boys, this is a bad attitude.
Later, Jesus felt the need to go through Samaria. There was Jesus sitting by the community well.
Jesus was not concerned about the well, but Jesus knew there would come a little lady.
That little lady would meet Jesus and would accept him as her personal Savior and she would
be an AGENT OF REVIVAL.
Thank God Jesus felt it essential to go through Samaria.
9. ARE EXCUSES PART OF YOUR MISSION? CAN YOU SEE HOW EXCUSES CAN HINDER GOD’S PLANS?
Luke 14:18 And they with one consent began TO MAKE EXCUSE! The first said unto him, I have
bought a piece of ground, and I MUST NEEDS GO AND SEE IT: I pray have me excused.
You know this man without a mission, without a purpose, without a plan --- had already seen this
plot of ground, else why would he have already paid? Was he a fool? No? Yes?
Yes, any man that confuses and distorts a God mission with the Master, is headed for some
dark days.
10. ARE YOU AWARE THAT GETTING HURT AND BEING OFFENDED CAN BE PART OF YOUR MISSION?
Mark 13:7 And when you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be ye not troubled: for such
things MUST NEEDS BE: But the end shall not be yet.
Matthew 24:10 warns us in the last days many shall be offended and betray one another, and hate
one another.
11. MANY TODAY HAVE A TURTLE MENTALITY WHEN IT COMES TO THEIR MISSION!
We withdraw from our mission because we are mad or disappointed at someone that hurts us.
So we withdraw from the fellowship with others. Bitterness, unforgiveness within the doors
of the church dim the light of Jesus.
Are you like a turtle, and pull back into the safety of your shell?
Did Jesus pull into a shell and withdraw from people because they never understood him?
Can you see why withdrawing from fellowship can hinder your purpose?
This is team work? It is not what you can do alone? It is what we can do together!
Does every one have to conform to you? You have to do this my way? You have to use my forms,
or you don’t count?
The same fence you build to keep others out, will become a trap and trap you in.
By this shall all men know --- IF YOU LOVE THE BRETHREN.
12. GOD HELP US FIND OUR MISSION AND BE TRUE TO IT!
God needs you! The pastor needs you! The church needs you!
You need us!
May we come together and spur each other into fulfilling our Divine Mission!
If you don’t know your mission, you will never complete it.
13. IS THIS MISSION IMPOSSIBLE?
No, God keeps those that He calls. You can.
Those that say it can’t be done are being passed by those that are doing it!
If God called you, God can guide you and help you accomplish your mission!
